Taste and see how good the Lord is!
The one who takes refuge in him is truly happy!
“Taste and see that the Lord is good, invites Psalm 34. As I learned long ago and continue to learn anew each day, it is the Lord, the bread keeper, who guards and gives life. This life is sheer gift. I receive it with deep gladness and am continually blessed by it. Now with each Eucharist I pray, in words spoken or unspoken, that I may fully receive the bread of life and that somehow I may share this gift with the world.”
–Jean M. Blomquist*
Keeper of the Bread, I praise your name and give thanks for my life. Amen.
Take a piece of bread, feel the crust and the soft interior. Raise it up and give thanks to God for this simple pleasure.
