Let every living thing praise the Lord!
A few nights ago my wife and I attended a program by a symphony orchestra. When the lights were dimmed the concertmaster came out, received applause, and then sounded one note, “A,” on his violin. One at a time, each section tuned their instruments to the note he sounded. In a few minutes the entire orchestra was in tune with the concertmaster and with one another. This process caused me to think in a new way about the meaning of the Incarnation, the coming of Jesus Christ in human form as our image of God. Jesus came upon the world’s stage and through his teachings, life, death, and resurrection sounded the true note that can help us to live and work together. His aim was to bring us into a loving union with each other and with God. Through Jesus we have access to that which is real and eternal. It is up to us to tune our lives to the One who is Truth.

Eternal God, we live in a world in which many voices say they have the real answers to our needs. Remind us, we pray, of Jesus who not only spoke truth but is the Truth. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Listen to some beautiful music today that reminds you of your relationship with Jesus.
