“Come to me, all you who are struggling hard and carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest.
Two years ago, I added a space at the beginning of my day to read my Bible and to write in my journal. Now I experience a spiritual retreat every morning. At first, I had trouble getting used to a devotional time. Finally, I prayed, asking the Lord for help and promising to give it my best. Soon, I realized that in addition to my morning devotions, I had started to PRAY more often—not only for what seemed important but also for everyday things. PRAYer and devotions have given me rest from the troubles of this world and have helped me to live for the Lord. Jesus says, “come to me and I will give you rest.” To have a close relationship with the Lord, accept the invitation.
Loving God, teach me what it means to abide in Christ and help me learn how to do so. Amen.
Make a plan to carve out time each day to spend with God.
