“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, then you will produce much fruit. Without me, you can’t do anything.”
The way to stay connected to God’s power is to stay connected to Christ. The way to do this is to “abide.” The word appears 11 times in John 15. Abiding in Christ is the key to experiencing spiritual power. So how do we abide in Christ? Jesus offers a helpful image — be a branch!
Merciful Christ, thank you for being a source of great nourishment and growth. May I abide in you and draw from your goodness. Help me to stay connected to you so I can experience God’s power.
Abiding in Christ allows us to be faithful disciples. What spiritual practices help you abide in Christ? What Christ-like actions can you carry out today?
