Our Next Level Innovation (N.L.I.) weekend was a great success. We had an inspirational worship service where the gathered church family seemed energized and blessed. As part of the service, the Innovation Team presented their report, which was based on what they heard from us. They proposed five innovations, which we, as a church, can accept or decline. If we accept them, the proposed support from our denomination is spelled out in the report. The most important support is from our coach, Reverend Mark Miller, of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Stafford, Virginia. If we decline the innovations, our relationship to N.L.I. ends. This decision will be made at a Church Conference, on July 26th, where every member in good standing has a vote.
I ask that you prayerfully read this report and that you pray before sharing comments with others. I also ask that you share your comments with me, both positive and negative. I would be happy to meet with you individually, or with any group, at any place and any time convenient to you to discuss the N.L.I. report.
I believe these innovations are a one-time opportunity to change the trajectory of our church and move to the next level in reaching our community to connect our neighbors to Christ and to one another. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
