Rev. Marcela Jarman
Associate Pastor for Latino-Americano Ministry
Director of Youth Ministry
Nick is a Georgia boy who moved to Sterling in November of 2011 to accept the position of Director of youth ministries here at Sterling UMC. He is the youngest of two children and is thankful for his family's support to pursue his calling. Nick has always been a fan of sports and his favorite teams include The Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Hawks. One of the reasons Nick has always loved sports is because he has always loved being a part of a team and watching everyone use their gifts for the greater good of the team. This is the same passion that drives Nick's ministry as he wants to help people understand that a successful team beats with one heart. With Christ as the heartbeat, we were all created to be on this team and use our gifts to further His kingdom. Nick also enjoys video games, hanging out with people, and Netflix. Nick’s hidden talent is that he can laugh like Scooby Doo (Don’t believe us? Ask him).
Nick’s favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:31: “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Director of Children's Ministries
Michelle grew up in Mount Laurel, New Jersey but has lived in Northern Virginia for over 10 years. Her journey into ministry began in 2006 as a volunteer in the Nursery during Vacation Bible School. Over the years, Michelle grew to love the children’s ministry and began teaching Sunday school. In 2014, her love for the children turned into a permanent position on the staff. "What a blessing it is to be in such a wonderful environment! It never feels like work, which is what I love about my position here at SUMC. It’s an amazing feeling to know the work you do is for your family and friends."
Michelle has a B.A. in Consumer Science with a specialization in Fashion Merchandising from Rowan College in New Jersey. She is married to Dave and has two children who are actively involved in our children’s ministry programs.

Organist & Contemporary Worship Leader
Technical Director/Youth Music Director
Grace Eisenhauer, our Technical Director/Youth Music Director, joined the staff in 2016, shortly after she graduated from Shenandoah University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Production and Recording Technology and a certification in Christian Leadership. Grace lived in Winchester, VA, for most of her life until her recent move to Charles Town, WV, where she also works as a substitute teacher and freelance wedding/engagement/senior portrait photographer and pianist.
Before college, Grace was an avid golfer, on the high school golf team, and has two holes-in-one to her name. She has three pets: a lizard named Pascal, a mastiff/pit bull mix named Hazel, and a grey tabby named Winona. Grace was adopted at birth and stays in contact with her birth parents and half siblings. She has a younger brother who was also adopted. Grace is extremely comfortable discussing adoption, so anyone needing someone to talk to about the subject, she's willing to listen.
Favorite verse: 1 Corinthians 13:7-8a - "[Love] bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails."
Director, Kids Under Construction Preschool
Jennifer Lofquist is the Director of Kids Under Construction Preschool here are Sterling United Methodist Church. Jennifer has been at KUC for 10 years. She was the Assistant Director for 3 years and has been the Director for the past 7 years. She quickly found out how rewarding a job this would be. "It’s hard to call what we do here “work” because we have so much fun. Each day brings something new and different. It is a tremendous blessing to be a part of these children’s lives even if only for a short time. It is my hope that when a child leaves us they know they are loved , that they are capable of anything they wish, and have the self-confidence to go out and make their wishes reality."
Jennifer's office is located on the second floor in room 200. She is often up and about during school hours but if you leave her a message or email, she will get back to you as soon as she can.
Jennifer lives with her husband and two children in Broadlands VA, and they have been members of SUMC for the past 9 years.
