October is Clergy Appreciation Month

“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up…” – Ephesians 4:11-12

 October is Clergy Appreciation Month. Have you thanked your pastor today?

A recent daily reading titled The Work of the Believer said this:

The world’s definition of success differs greatly from God’s.  Take the role of a pastor, for example, it would be easy to accept accolades for church growth, as many people equate high attendance numbers with a minister’s effectiveness.  But the Lord desires that we obey Him with humility…success is measured by obedience.

We are grateful to have both Pastor Steve and Pastor Marcela and thank them and their families for the hard work, sacrificial dedication and the multiple blessings provided by these special people.

We thank them for their obedience.

Here are some suggestions to show your appreciation to our clergy:

  • Pray for Pastor Steve and Pastor Marcela and their families;
  • Write a note of appreciation to them which reaffirms your commitment to our church;
  • Bring friends and/or family to worship to hear them speak on the Word of God;

We are truly blessed to have Steve and Marcela serving at Sterling United Methodist Church as we continue on our faith journey together.
