Our Senior Activity Group Has a Busy Summer Planned

Here is a brief update of the Senior Activity Group’s schedule for the next two months:

Sunday, July 22 is the next SAG Monthly Meeting at the church from 3 PM to 5 PM.  Guest speaker will be Kevin Johnson, Coordinator of the Loudoun County Office of Emergency Management, speaking on “Disaster Preparations for Seniors.”  Registration will open at this meeting for the August 30 “Love, Lies, and the Lottery” at Rainbow Comedy Playhouse; the final Niagra Falls payment will be due and there will be continued registration for “Beauty and the Beast” and “Queen of Bingo.”

Wednesday, July 25 will be the next Bingo and Ice Cream Social at the church from 1:30 to 3:30 PM in the Gallihugh Fellowship Hall.

Sunday, July 29  Sterling Playmakers’ production of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” at Potomac Falls High School.  We will meet at school at 1:45 PM for the  2 PM show.  After the show, optional dinner at King’s Buffet near the intersection of Cascades Parkway and Church Road.  The cost is $13 and only includes show ticket with reserved seating.  Dinner around 5:15 p.m. at King’s (Chinese) Buffet is $14.25 (meal, drink and tax) or $12.40 (meal and tax only) plus 15% tip.  You can come to the show, come to dinner or do both.  Deadline is July 27 for registration.

Wednesday, August 8 “A Chorus Line”  at the Riverside Dinner Theatre in Fredericksburg.  This trip is currently sold out with a strong waitlist.

Thursday, August 16 is the next SAG Bingo and Ice Cream Social from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the church.

Tuesday, August 21 “Queen of Bingo” at the Totem Pole Playhouse near Fayetteville, PA.  We leave the Church at 10:30 AM. and return at about 6 PM.  There will be a Leesburg pick-up.  Lunch will be at General Pickett’s Buffet in Gettysburg.  The cost is $57 and includes motorcoach transportation, driver’s tip, buffet, tip, and show.  Show description:  Explore the worlds of bingo, family ties, diet crazes, widowhood, hot flashes and winning!  You’ll howl with laughter as two zany guys, playing two crazy sisters on the other side of 50, light up the stage in this comedy hit.  There are currently twelve seats left.

Sunday, August 26 will be the SAG Monthly Meeting from 3 PM to 5 PM at the church.  The program will be “Live Wildlife Encounters.”  Registrations will open for the September 20 Botanic Gardens/Museum of the Bible trip; and the Tuesday, October 23 Western Maryland Railroad trip.  The Biltmore final payment will be due.

Thursday, August 30 is the “Love, Lies, and the Lottery” at Rainbow Comedy Playhouse.  Cost is $71.00.

Monday-Friday, September 10-14 is the Niagara Falls Trip.  This trip is sold out.

The November 12 – 15 Biltmore/Ashville NC trip is sold out.
