Sterling UMC Senior Activity Group Happenings

The next Senior Activity Group (SAG) meeting from 3-5 PM at the church.  The Speaker will be U.S. Coast Guard Captain Robert Workman (Retired) discussing his experiences in the U.S. Coast Guard, including the evacuation of over 2,000 passengers from sinking cruise ships, the rescue of downed military and civilian pilots and aircrews, hurricane and flood rescue and relief, medical air evacuations, etc.  Third payment for San Antonio is due.  Registration will also open for the April 5 Rainbow Comedy Playhouse trip.

Wednesday, Feb Bingo/Ice Cream Social from 1:30-3:30 PM at the church.  2 cards for $1 for bingo, $1 for the ice cream social (optional).  No registration is required.

Sunday, March 4 activity is to attend the Sterling Playmakers’ production of “The 39 Steps” at Seneca Ridge Middle School in Sterling.  The show is from 3-5 PM followed by optional dinner at Mimi’s at the Dulles Towne Center.  Come to the show or join us at Mimi’s or do either one or both.  Cost is $13 for the show with dinner on your own.  No limit, deadline March 2.  There are currently 35 registered.

Wednesday, March 21 is the trip to the National Cathedral; and then to see “Shear Madness” at the Kennedy Center.  This trip is full at 56 with wait a list available.  This trip leaves at 11:45 AM and returns at 8:15 PM.

Thursday, April 5 is the trip to the Rainbow Comedy Playhouse (near Lancaster, PA) to see “Whose Wife Is It, Anyway?”  Leave the Church at 8 AM, return about 6:30 PM (there will be a Leesburg pick-up). The cost is $71 and includes motorcoach transportation, driver’s tip, buffet lunch, meal, tip, and show.   Registration opens at the February 25 SAG meeting.

 

Wednesday, April 18 will be the trip to see “Newsies” at Toby’s Dinner Theatre in Columbia.  This trip leaves at 9:15 AM and returns at 5:15 PM.  Cost is $75 which includes motorcoach transportation, driver’s tip, show, meal, and tip. There are currently 51 registered and only 6 seats left.
