“Train a child how to live the right way.  Then even when he is old, he will still live that way.”

Proverbs 22:6

The New Sunday Experience coming September 10 to SUMC includes some changes to our children’s and youth programs as well.

Our Sunday School program is now called “Sterling Kids” and our Sunday worship schedule now includes a service just for kids at 9 AM!

The Sterling Kids Worship Service will be held in the Gallihugh Hall fellowship hall and will follow the structure of the adult service as much as possible with:

  • Music
  • “Pew Pads” to sign in
  •  Announcements
  • Passing of the Peace greeting
  • Joys and concerns for prayer time
  • Tithing
  • A reading
  • A message
  • Communion
Designed for school age children and older but no one will be turned away; and older children will be welcomed as a means to create a mentoring environment.

Our Sterling Kids Sunday School program in the 10 AM hour includes classes for Two’s and Three’s; Pre-school and Kindergarten; 1st through 4th grade; and 5th and 6th grade.

Nursery for ages 0 to 24 months is available for all service times.

In addition, our “Student Ministries”  for young people 7th grade through 12th includes: a Confirmation class for 7th grade and above; and a Student Ministry Bible study on Sunday morning at 10 AM.

Our Life Signs Student Ministry  is a youth group for students in grades 6 through 12 that meets on Sunday evenings from 5:30 to 8 PM for fellowship, fun, music, a message, and a meal!

If you would like to register your child for one of our Sterling Kids programs or our Student Ministry programs you may do so on our website.

For more information about our worship schedule including Amigos, our Spanish language worship service; and our other activities for fellowship and learning on Sunday mornings visit our website.

SUMC is a community church serving the needs of Sterling and its neighbors.  All are welcome in our church family.
