Fall Program Preparation and the Blessing of the Backpacks

Remember this Sunday, August 19 at the 9 AM service during the Children’s Moment we will have the annual blessing of the backpacks so make sure your child brings his or her backpack with them to worship!

This week’s Sermon is titled Instruments of Salvation and the scripture is Ephesians 5:15-21.

Preparation for the new Fall program continues with a kick off scheduled for September 9 that will include our new Sunday school curriculum Deep Blue Connects; new programs for our 10 AM Growing Deeper discipleship hour; a Wednesday evening opportunity for fellowship and study; all to be kicked off by a Fall Fiesta event at noon on September 9.

The new Growing Deeper at Ten studies will be announced soon, however, a schedule change has already been announced that will allow for participation in the SERVE activities like Backpack Buddies and give participants time to make it to their studies.

The 9 AM worship time will conclude at 9:50 AM and the individual studies will begin at 10:10 AM thus allowing a twenty minute time for fellowship.  The new twenty minute fellowship time will allow all to participate in the hands-on SERVE activities, such as Card Ministries and Backpack Buddies, taking place in the Narthex (lobby) before moving on to one of the various classes.

The new studies will be designed to be drop-in friendly allowing the option of missing a week or rotating through different topics on different Sundays.  Look for the study titles to be announced by August 26.

Our Wednesday evening fellowship and Bible study returns on September 12.  Meals will be available for purchase and catered by local restaurants, followed by a time of study.  Currently, there are two sessions being planned.

Registration is available now for Deep Blue Connects Sunday School with an orientation planned for August 26 during the 10 AM hour.

Plan to attend the festivities at noon on Sunday, September 9 as we celebrate our new year with food, games, information, and weather permitting a moon bounce and a visit by the fire truck!
