Our Busy Month Continues

Saturday our local Missions Outreach week ended with the GRACE Ministries food distribution.  It was a successful week that started with serving lunch for the seniors of our community; then Tuesday working in the DeShong’s Gift Back gardens and the LINK Food Pantry; on Wednesday it was grounds maintenance at a Good Shepherd Alliance facility; then Thursday helping out at Mobile Hope; Friday included setting up for GRACE Ministries and some work projects around the church; ending Saturday with the GRACE distribution.  Lots of volunteer hours spent serving the needs of our local Sterling and Loudoun community.

And yesterday, Sunday the 15th ,  the first of our two traveling mission teams left for Atlanta to work with the homeless population there and next Sunday the 22nd our second traveling team will depart for Baldwin, Louisiana and work in UMCOR’s (United Methodist Committee on Relief) Sager Brown supply depot which supports disaster relief in the United States as well as other countries.

The second week and final week of Summer Camp started today and will be followed by Vacation Bible School beginning on July 23. There is still time to register for Vacation Bible School on July 23.

Our second percussion ensemble practice meets on July 26 at 7 PM with a performance scheduled for Sunday, July 29.  If you are interested in joining this group called Drumming in the Spirit 102,  just sign up here.
