Helping Hands

Helping Hands ministry is a group of volunteers who provide a little extra help to members and friends of our congregation who are going through a difficult time or could use a helping hand.

Meals for Illness, Birth of Child, or Other Difficult TImes

When a member of our congregation has had surgery, has suffered a debilitating illness, or has given birth, Helping Hands volunteers take a meal to the person’s home.  Helping Hands has served many people over the years in this capacity, and it is through this ministry that we show God's love for one another in times of need.  As much as the meal itself is appreciated, it is the company and concern shared with one another that makes this such a fulfilling and meaningful ministry.

Funeral Meals

When a member or friend of our congregation passes away, family members often request a reception time following a funeral or memorial service for their loved one. This is an important time of fellowship for a grieving family, and we are glad to be able to provide this ministry.  While funeral luncheons are not frequent, they do require many helpers.Helping Hands volunteers provide food for the reception, as well as the set up, clean up and serving of the meal during the reception in Gallihugh Hall.
