11:00 AM Sunday Mornings - Sterling Studies 403- The Rise and Falls of Christendom
This course explores advanced topics of interest to serious disciples eager to grow in their faith and hungry for solid spiritual food. As a unifying thread, we will resume our Grand Tour of the past two thousand years of developing Christian thought beginning with the emergence of the Holy Roman Empire and the opposing Islamic Empire which together would rule the Mediterranean for over 1,000 years.

Each year Sterling Studies looks at the Bible through a different lens seeking new understanding and insights. Last year we discussed how to talk with non-Christians about our faith. This year we look through the lens of Christendom history! After all, a lot has happened since the ink dried on those final Bible manuscripts.

Beliefs that Divide Us - The War on Error
Throughout history, living in a secular world has made it all too easy to let false teachings creep into our beliefs -- without even realizing it. The Bible tells us not to tear apart Christ's Church over foolish disputes. But, it also tells us not to even associate with false teachers and errant believers. We must adamantly reject heresies and errors but graciously tolerate differing opinions on "disputable matters"! How can we know the difference? This series looks at the diverging beliefs that divide the (over 50%!) of mankind who think they are faithfully serving the God of Abraham. We will learn how to combat Satan's highly-effective strategy of diverting believers from The Way by introducing false teachings, The Bible says such teachings can rob us of our heavenly rewards and even our very salvation. This course fires the first shots in the War on Error.
