What Is New and Coming this Fall to Sterling UMC?
The Fall programs are gearing up here at Sterling United Methodist Church with a kick off date of Sunday, September 9.
The new Sunday school curriculum that has been introduced, Deep Blue Kids, will have an orientation on Sunday, August 26 and will begin the 2018-2019 school year on September 9.
And there is more!
The Sunday experience is being tweaked to allow for better transitions from worship to study and service. The Growing Deeper at Ten hour will be modified slightly with discipleship hour starting at 10:10 AM to allow for time for fellowship and movement from the worship service to the Growing Deeper activities. New programs are being developed and existing ones modified to keep current and offer a meaningful time of study, prayer, fellowship, and service. There will be more information to come on the new program developments in the near future.
In addition, the Children’s Service will begin with the kids starting at the 9 AM Traditional Service in the sanctuary with a Children’s Moment, after which the children will be escorted to the Gallihugh Fellowship to continue their service.
Following the Children’s Service, the kids will have their opportunity to grow deeper at ten with Deep Blue Connects: At Home with God Sunday School program.
We will also be offering a mid-week opportunity for Bible study and fellowship once again with a Wednesday evening program being planned. There will be nursery services, a time for fellowship, and short session Bible studies (four to six weeks at a time) planned. The first Wednesday evening program is targeted for September 12.
And work is being finalized on a new Sterling United Methodist Church website which will be done in time for the new programs! Watch for this!
Stay tuned for more updates on these and other upcoming programs for the Fall.
And remember to mark your calendars for Sunday, September 9! This is the start of our new season and we will celebrate with a “Fall Fiesta” starting at around noon at the church with food, music; and weather permitting a moon bounce and even a visit by the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company!
And don’t forget Wednesday, September 12 for food, fellowship, and study!
