The SUMC UWF is collecting creative, themed baskets to support Mosaic Virginia! Can your ministry area help?
At our April 3 UWF meeting our speaker Lee Merriam gave us information on the organization: Mosaic Virginia . They are located near INOVA Loudoun Hospital and will be opening a new location in Herndon. Mosaic Virginia is a 501c3 non-profit, pro-life medical pregnancy center in Loudoun County and serving the community for more than 28 years. Medical services, parenting resources and advocate counseling are provided at no cost to clients to help them choose life and parent their children. They council an individual for 1 year and most women keep their baby or adopt out. There is a nurse on staff. They now have men that council boyfriends/husbands.
They are planning Mosaic Miles for Life which is a fun run on June 24th to help raise awareness and raise funds. They are in need of creative ‘themed baskets’ filled with various items to auction off to help raise funds for their services. UWF has decided to accept the challenge and offer it to other SUMC groups/committees.
Funding for Mosaic VA comes from sponsors, some grants and fund raisers. Donna Meyer has graciously offered baskets to be used from very small to large. They will be available in room 105 to use and fill. Filled baskets are to be returned to room 105 prior to May 7 so Mosaic Virginia can pick them up at the UWF tea.
Ideas for ‘Themed Baskets’ (all items must be ‘New’ or Cash, no checks) can be found here: Ideas for Gift Baskets for Mosaic Virginia
The baskets will be auctioned at their event and can be for a family, couple or person.
Let’s get creative, SUMC! Have some fun and support a worthy cause.
