Easter Cantata

Sterling United Methodist Church’s Music Department presents In My Place: Remembering Christ’s Sacrifice of Love – An Easter Cantata this Palm Sunday, April 14. The Cantata follows the journey of Jesus to the cross in a beautiful narrated orchestration. The Cantata will be directed by Willis Rosenfeld, Sterling’s Music Director and features a full orchestra of local musicians and our very own Aldersgate Choir.

Cantata’s are a beloved tradition at Sterling UMC, generally being produced during the Christmas and Easter Seasons. Each cantata provides a new musical perspective to the given church holiday. This particular piece focuses on “Christ’s Sacrifice of Love” and gives us all a chance to reflect and give thanks for the sacrifice that Christ made for us as we prepare to celebrate his resurrection on Easter. The Cantata will be a wonderful production that the whole family will enjoy and childcare will be provided during both performances for our youngest friends.

The Easter Cantata will be one of many events happening a Sterling UMC this Easter Season. Want to know all the details? Click here to find all the info for our Easter Carnival, Holy Week Services and Easter Sunday!
