We are taking steps in our efforts to improve the safety and security of our worshipers, with a De-Escalation Presentation provided by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).  The program will be presented on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

It is designed for any interested member, but would be especially beneficial for Greeters and Ushers, who routinely meet people as they enter the church.

The De-Escalation Presentation provides attendees with tips and tricks to utilize when interacting with individuals in crisis.  The two-hour presentation goes over common signs and symptoms of crises, physical warning signs of danger or aggression, and practical skills that can be used in any crisis situation.  The presentation is provided by Sgt. Sean M. Plummer, Supervisor of the Crisis Services Section who oversees the Co-Responder Program, the Crisis Intervention Team Assessment Center, and the Crisis Intervention Team Training.  Sgt. Plummer also serves on LCSO’s Crisis Negotiations Team.
