Do Unto Others
We will be going over the importance of living by the Golden Rule for the first couple weeks this fall. This is an exciting series of lessons that will help us explore how we can live the way Jesus taught us. You can find out more information at Campaign for Kindness.
“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” – Matthew 7:12
Sunday Schedule
Note: We’d be delighted to love and teach your kids in Sunday school, but if you’d prefer them to stay with you, that's perfectly fine! We have a beautiful sanctuary lobby (Narthex) that is able to double as a place for our young members to sit with their adults if they like. This is a great place for families to be able to hear what is happening in service, while providing room for wiggles without disturbing others. Also, if you prefer to sit with your child in room 100 or 101, you are always welcome!
Our youngest friends may be dropped off 15 minutes before service starts in room 101. Please bring any diapers, wipes, and snacks (or bottles) that your child will need during this time.
Our preschool and school aged friends are invited to start service either in room 100 with a staff member, or in the sanctuary with their adults. At the beginning of service any children in room 100 will sit in the front pew with a staff member. All children will be invited up front for a children’s message with Pastor Bert. After the message, all children will go with the staff member to room 100 where they will attend Sunday school. During Sunday school, everyone will start together for the group lesson and then break into groups according to age for appropriate activities and crafts.
Our childcare services are available after service as well if you are staying for a Bible study, please let the staff member in the room know if you will be staying.
Train children in the way they should go; when they grow old, they won’t depart from it.
- Proverbs 22:6
Kids are at the center of everything we do at Sterling Church! We want to make sure that our youngest members are truly welcome – not just tolerated – at all of our events! From time to time, that means things like face painting and balloon animals!
And sometimes it means chalk, space, and the freedom to be a KID!
Church Bear, a beloved tradition from our late Pastor, Rev. Steve Vineyard, is our Sunday School mascot. He can be found all around the church, bringing smiles to kids and adults alike!
The United Women of Faith (formerly the United Methodist Women) do an incredible job hosting our church meal functions, and always make sure to have things that even picky eaters can enjoy! We also make every effort to be allergy aware, and can work with your specific needs to make sure that you and your child are included in our special celebrations!
