Gerson Hortua

Gerson Hortua is an accomplished Venezuelan musician who graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education in Medellin, Columbia. He has  experience on the piano with different musical influences such as Classical, Gospel, Latin and Jazz. Throughout his musical career he has expanded his expertise in different areas such as Composer, Choir and Orchestra director, performing Operas, Oratorios, Musicals and Concertos. 

Gerson joined Sterling UMC in 2017 as the Worship Leader for the Amigos, our Spanish speaking congregation, and has since served the music ministry during special events. He loves Chinese Food, Mahler (and all genres of good music), Shenandoah Park Skyline, the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC, visiting friends and of course, Broadway!
