The Third Sunday of Lent and The Youth Musical!
This Lent we will quiet things down and heighten our attention to the “still, small voice” of God and our own True Self. Listening through prayer as well as meditation on holy texts is an ancient Lenten practice. Come and rest, come and listen.
This Sunday, the third Sunday of Lent, Pastor Steve Vineyard continues his sermon series titled “Listen, Hearing that Still Small Voice and Finding Your Own.”
And we are excited that The Sterling United Methodist Church Players will present their youth musical “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” this week on March 2, 3, and 4 at the church.
Tickets are on sale now for the Friday, March 2 performance at 7 PM; the Saturday, March 3 performance at 7 PM; and the Sunday, March 4 matinee performance at 2 PM. Tickets are $8 for adults ($9 at the door); $6 kids under 12 ($7 at the door); kids under 3 are free.
The SUMC Player’s performance is an adaptation of the 1967 musical “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown”, based on the Charles Shultz Peanuts characters with the book, music, and lyrics by Clark M. Gesner. The original premiered off-Broadway in 1967 and ran until 1971 after a short stint on-Broadway. It has been revived both on and off Broadway since then.
The Sterling UMC Players Youth Musical is an annual event and is always an enjoyable experience! Tickets can be purchased from the office at any time during normal business hours this week and at the door for each performance.
Play is produced by arrangement with TAMS-WITMARK MUSIC LIBRARY, INC. 560 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY 10022
